How is a lei 'a'i (neck lei) presented and how is it worn? (See photo gallery)
* When someone presents a lei to the recipient they would generally hold the lei with two hands, shoulder width apart, and place the lei over the recipients head, lower it to the shoulders having the lei hang 1/4 towards the back and 3/4 on the chest (with the ribbon/garnish sitting a few inches below the shoulders).
* Some people say that you should wear the lei garnish on the side that you would wear your ring i.e. if you are taken, wear it on your left and if you are single, wear it on the right.
* It is customary for the recipient to bow just slightly to accept the lei followed by a hug or a peck on the cheek.
* It is considered rude to not accept a lei. It is also disrespectful to take off the lei in the presence of it's presenter.
How is a lei po’o (head lei) presented and how is it worn?
* Present the lei as if you are crowning a pageant queen.
* Presenting a lei po’o has it’s challenges. Preferred method is to tie the lei po’o prior to presenting it (they can always readjust it themselves). You may also place the lei po’o on the recipient and tie a bow from behind but be careful not to tie their hair into the bow.
* A lei po’o is usually worn on the top half of the forehead parallel to the ground when looking straight forward but, whichever way fits your style and comfort should work just fine!

* An Everlasting lei may be reused, recycled, or even re-gifted!
* The Aloha spirit never fades and can only grow stronger.
How do you take care of an Everlasting Lei?
* The best way to keep an Everlasting Lei as good as new is by storing it in a container (to prevent dust or odors), store it in a cool and dry place, and by keeping it away from direct sunlight (to preserve its vibrant colors).
* Do not tug or pull on flowers as this may tear the petals and destroy the lei. Loose flowers could also be reconstructed. Ask us how.
